Got Questions? We've Got Answers!

What is a mandala and why would I want to design one?

The word "mandala" in the craft world is commonly used to refer to layered paper artwork, which are some of the most amazing things you can make with a cutting machine! And when you can design your own, rather than rely on purchasing them from other designs, the sky's the limit — make monograms, numbers, and words, custom-shaped designs, and anything you can think of! Here are some of the mandalas JenniferMaker has designed and shared with the world — these are also some of JenniferMaker's MOST popular projects. If we chose to offer these on Etsy for a price, people would definitely buy them.

I am not an artist. Will my mandalas look bad?

You don't need to be an artist to make mandala magic. Jennifer can teach you how to use existing shapes to build and layer your mandala. It really is like magic!

Why should I enroll in a workshop rather than watch a YouTube video or read a blog tutorial?

This in-depth design workshop is designed for those who feel they need help understanding how to design and make mandalas. You can ask questions and feel confident that you'll get help here! This workshop is also great for those who enjoy learning from Jennifer's easy-to-understand, calm, and clear method of teaching. This is a no-fluff, no-mess, no-distraction workshop ... it's like sitting down with Jennifer in her craft room to learn directly from her!

How long is the workshop?

The workshop is split into six lesson videos that are approximately two hours in total — Jennifer teaches you the software to make three different mandalas in Cricut Design Space, Inkscape, and Illustrator, as well as how frame the layers so they fit into a premade shadow box, and then how to prepare, cut, and assemble all three mandala projects. You can watch all or skip to just the parts that interest you. There's also a Q&A session.

Is this a live workshop?

No. All information is all available to watch on-demand so you can pause, rewind, and go at your own pace.

Do I have to have to use Facebook for this workshop?

No. All videos, workbooks, files, and resources are stored in the Workshop Area in our Teachable school system, which does not share a login with Facebook. However, you should note that the Facebook group is a great place to learn from others in the workshop.

What equipment do I need?

A desktop computer, laptop computer, tablet, or smartphone. (Note: You'll need a desktop or laptop computer for two of the lessons.)

What software do I need?

For this workshop, you can use one of three programs: Cricut Design Space (free), Inkscape (free), and/or Adobe Illustrator (monthly fee, with a 7-day free trial).

What supplies do I need?

If you want to cut and make your mandalas, you'll need some cardstock and adhesives. You can make one or all of these projects — a full supply list is available after you enroll to help you find items.

MANDALA MAGIC Design Workshop (15)

Do you just teach design?

No, Jennifer will also show you how to upload, cut, and assemble three beautiful mandalas with complete step-by-step directions from start to finish.

Will this workshop teach me to make SVG cut files?

Yes, the lessons on how to make mandalas with Inkscape and Illustrator will produce SVG files that can be shared or even sold.

Will this workshop teach me everything there is to know about layered paper art?

No, this workshop focuses on creating paper art with offset layers. There are other methods of making layered paper art that are not covered in this workshop.

I am new to my Cricut cutting machine. Will this help?

Yes, because we're including our Cricut Kickoff mini-course as a bonus for enrolling in the Mandala Magic workshop. Jennifer recommends you do that first before you attend the workshop so it makes more sense to you!

Do I need a Cricut to take this workshop?

No, this workshop can be completed without a cutting machine. You can design a mandala without ever cutting and making it! If you wish to cut and assemble your design, however, you'll want a cutting machine to cut your cardstock.

How is this workshop different from your CUT ABOVE course?

The CUT ABOVE course teaches you all about using illustration software and its tools, whereas this workshop shows you how to use those programs (plus Cricut Design Space) to specifically create layered artwork. So this workshop is more focused and less comprehensive than CUT ABOVE. For those who are in CUT ABOVE, you may note that I do teach how to make a mandala in Unit 7, but it is made with the pen and cloning tools, rather than the Outset (Inkscape) and Offset Path (Illustrator) tools shown in this workshop. This workshop delves into different techniques, and focuses on layered projects with offsets, rather than the cloning techniques taught in Lesson 7 which do not produce layered results.

Can I sell the projects I make in this workshop?

Yes!

Is there a coupon for this workshop?

No, as this workshop is already discounted to be affordable without any coupons needed.

I got a VIP Pass from you. Is this included?

No, VIP Passes are sold for specific events, such as Maker Academy Weekend and other events with multiple sessions. VIP Passes include only the workshops presented during that one event, not workshops presented in any other event or presented individually. If you'd like to take this workshop, please register for it separately.

What is your refund policy?

We have a 30-day happiness guarantee! If you are unsatisfied with your purchase, contact me within 30 days of your enrollment and I will give you a full refund. Please view my refund policy here for more details.

Will I be able to ask questions?

Yes! You can post in our Facebook group and/or email us directly!
